Our production line for wet kaolin enrichment

A high-tech complex designed for efficient separation and classification of kaolin ore mineral grains by size. The use of a dry process reduces production costs and ensures cost-effectiveness, especially in arid climates.

 

  1. Primary crushing: The process begins with the primary crushing of kaolin ore, taking into account the initial moisture content, which can reach up to 20%. The efficient crushers included in our line ensure optimal raw material preparation for the next stage.
     
  2. Secondary crushing and drying: Next, the raw material undergoes secondary crushing accompanied by hot air supply. This stage reduces the kaolin moisture from approximately 20% to 10%, optimizing the subsequent enrichment process.
     
  3. Grinding and separation: Kaolin is ground using equipment equipped with a separator and cyclone. This provides high separation efficiency, isolating valuable fractions that can be used in various industries such as rubber, plastics, and paper.
     
  4. Additional processing: If necessary, to achieve a high level of brightness, our line provides additional processing steps such as magnetic separation to remove iron and titanium impurities. This creates a product that meets the most stringent quality standards.

Our wet kaolin enrichment production line is an innovative complex designed for efficient disintegration of raw kaolin and subsequent separation of the clay fraction.

 

The wet process, which includes preparation of kaolinite ore, enrichment, and product dewatering, provides high-quality kaolin that meets the strictest standards.

 

The wet process includes three stages:

 

  1. Preparation of kaolinite ore

    The preparation stage includes operations such as dosing, crushing, and dispersing.
     

  2. Enrichment

    The enrichment stage may include operations such as hydraulic classification, gravity separation, flotation, selective flocculation, magnetic separation, and chemical treatment (bleaching) to remove various impurities. 
     

  3. Product dewatering

    Filtration, drying: After enrichment, the product is filtered to improve filtration during thickening of the kaolin slurry. Then the product is dried to a moisture content of 12-14%, ensuring stability and meeting quality requirements.

  • Technology advantages: The dry enrichment method used by our equipment eliminates the need for processes such as dewatering and product drying, which reduces production costs. In addition, the short technological line and low production costs make this equipment especially attractive for operation.
     
  • Product application: The resulting product, with high brightness, can be used in various industries such as the paper industry, where high whiteness requirements play an important role. It can also serve as a low-cost filler in the rubber and plastics industries.

A combination of gravity separation, magnetic separation, flotation, or chemical treatment ensures maximum efficiency and high quality of the final product.

Our lines can produce

Kaolin concentrate produced as: 

  • Powder, extrudate, slurry (wet enrichment line development)
  • Powder (dry enrichment line development)
  • Powder (processing line without enrichment, e.g. chamotte production)

As well as:

  • Quartz concentrate. 
  • When enriching alkaline kaolins and quartz-feldspar-kaolin sands – feldspar concentrate. 

Our lines are capable of producing all known types of kaolin raw materials used in industry:

  1. Aqueous kaolin: Has a fine particle size, plate-like shape, and chemical inertness. Obtained by aqueous washing, purified and dewatered. Widely used as a filler in industries including paper, paints and coatings, glass, and rubber.
  2. Delaminated kaolin: Produced by grinding the coarse fraction, improving brightness, light scattering, and barrier properties.
  3. Dry-ground kaolin: Air separation to reduce impurities, used in the cosmetic industry.
  4. Calcined kaolin: Firing at high temperatures improves whiteness, hardness, and electrical properties. Used in cement, rubber, cables, and other industries.
  5. Surface-modified kaolin: Used to alter the physical and chemical properties of kaolin with the addition of special modifiers. Applied in rubber and plastics to impart specific properties.
  6. Unenriched kaolin (raw): Used for the production of refractory products and chamotte products, including those from enriched kaolin.
